The Phoenix Rising
Abilene, Texas
June 12-15, 2000
The 2000 reunion was grandest of all! June 14th marked the resurrection
of the 13th Bomb Squadron at Dyess AFB, Abilene, Texas, bringing
together the historic 13th and the modern 13th.
Representing the historic 13th was the B-26 Spirit of Waco from
the Ranger Wing of the Confederate Air Force.
|

Representing the modern 13th was a supersonic B-1B Lancer -- nose
to nose with the Korean era B-26.
|

An original work of art, "Flight of Aces", depicting a flight
of 13th Aero Squadron SPADS in WWI, was presented by Bill Cowan,
speaking for the historic 13th, to Lt. Col. McCormick, Squadron
Commander of the new 13th.
A graphic of the painting for use as desktop wallpaper can be
found on the Wallpaper Download Zone. Or, hop on over to Oscar's Emporium to order an 11"x14" Flight of Aces photo suitable for framing
for only $20.00.
